Item details

This is a centuries old work holding devise used while hand planing a board on the top of your workbench. The bench stop is either set into the bench top directly or set into a sliding wooden stop or dog. The board is then either pushed or lightly tapped with a mallet to set the teeth on the stop. Your work is then well secured for planing and other hand work. These are hand forge using traditional techniques in my blacksmith shop. Finished while still hot with a light coat of wax. This particular stop features decorative file work.
