Item details

Dorset Buttons originated in Shaftesbury in the 1620s. They became a major cottage industry in Dorset creating employment and income for many families. By the 1780s 4,000 women and children were employed in the industry. The industry came to an end in the early 1800s with the introduction of a button making machine.

These hollow brass rings are ideal for making Dorset Buttons. I sell them in all in packs of 5.

25mm x £1.00 for a pack of five
32mm x £1.50 for a pack of five
35mm x £1.60 for a pack of five
