This is a 1:325 scale model of a building designed by famed architect I. M. Pei at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, US. It comes with a booklet of instructions and information on the building and the designer, with a glossary. All pages are here and in good condition, clean and flat. You put it together by cutting and folding as per instructions. This is out of print and hard to find.
from website: Known as a modernist, [Pei is] notable for his forms based upon arrangements of simple geometric shapes such as triangles, circles, and squares. His most well-known work is likely his crystalline extension to the Louvre in Paris; other highly influential works include the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, the East Building of the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC and the JFK Presidential Library in Boston.
Most shipping charges are based on rates for Priority Mail for the US Postal Service. The fee you pay should be a little higher than the postage to allow for packaging materials and my time and gas.
Please contact me if you want to order more than one item. I will be happy to make up a custom order for you with a lower shipping charge than separate items would have. See below for other ways to reduce your costs.
If cost is not a factor and you want the added security of paying UPS to package the item, or if you need it next day, let me know and you can upgrade the shipping.
I prefer card payments. If you are an off-the-grid person, I will make an exception and you can send me a money order. After I receive it I will ship your item.
Returns & exchanges
If something is damaged or otherwise different from the description, I will be glad to give you a refund. Most items are insured, so send me a picture and I will refund the shipping cost. You can get a refund of the item's cost by filing a claim with the post office and don't have to return the broken item.
I can't afford to pay shipping just so you can get a good look at something, though, so if you just don't like it I will refund the purchase price without the shipping after you have returned it to me.
If you are ordering a framed print, you can reduce your shipping costs.
Many prints come in frames that could be purchased at a store for less than the amount it adds to shipping, plus there is less chance of damage. In most cases I can remove the print and ship it in a tube for a lower cost if you don't want the frame. Since I don't ship glass items internationally, this alternative is great for people around the world.
Books will be sent by media mail. It's cheaper but you also might have to wait up to 2 weeks to receive the package. Contact me before you order if you wish expedited shipping.
On international orders charges can vary widely and the price listed is an estimate. If you think it will actually cost less, ask me and I will take it to the post office to get an estimate before wrapping it up.
