Impression jasper is a composite material made from fragments of impression/variscite jasper (found in China) that are combined with resin, dye and heat to produce vivid colors and patterns. Composite stones are extremely popular due to their relatively low cost and the "upcycling" that forms them.
These 8mm impression jasper beads are a vivid royal violet purple with swirls of tan throughout.
Please note that I use a macro lens to get as much up-close detail as possible. Pay close attention to the size description. For reference, a quarter coin measures about 24mm in diameter.
