These gorgeous Teeswater locks have been hand dyed in acid dyes to produce a cloud of bright pinks, purples and mauves. The locks come from Teeswater sheep who have been raised in the UK. The fleece comes to me in it's raw state. I then wash and sort the fleece by hand, choosing the best quality locks for dyeing and selling in my shop. The locks are soft and lustrous, making them perfect for dolls hair, spinning, weaving, wet felting, needle felting, mixed media art, accessorising clothes...the list goes on.
The locks are slightly seized, meaning they are attached together, but will come apart easily by gentle pulling. Therefore you can either use the cloud as it is, or pull the locks apart to use separately. You will find locks for sale that have already been separated but by buying them in a cloud such as this, you are saving yourself some money.
The cloud weighs just over 1oz, the fibres felt easily by agitating them in hot soapy water. They are best dried by laying out flat, or hanging up to drip dry.
Sorting the locks by hand is a time consuming process, one that I love, but you may find the odd bit of vegetable matter. I prefer to buy my fleece from sheep that have been kept in a field rather than those that are locked up all winter, so it tends to be that these sheep are a little more dirty but well worth the extra work for me.
SHIPPING - USA customers please note, I use Royal Mail shipping 'UNTRACKED' as it's the cheapest way to do it. This means that in the very rare event of it going missing in the post, I can't determine it's location or offer a refund. However I am happy to send by 'Tracked' shipping, the cost is £8.95, so please convo me and I can arrange this for you.
