This pattern was discovered in my mother-in-law's collection of vintage knitting patterns. The instructions advised using Bri-Nylon yarn which was regarded as indistructable and very suitable for an economic garment for kids. You needed to be very careful when washing Bri-Nylon as water a little too hot would stretch the garment for ever.
The patterns give V-neck and Crew Neck versions, both easy and uncomplicated. The sizes are bigger than my #48 pattern; these here are 25"-26" (63.5 cm to 66 cm), then 27"-28" (68.5 cm to 71 cm), and 29"-30" (73.5 cm to 76 cm); requiring 5, 6, 7 oz yarn (125 g, 150 g, 175 g).
PLEASE NOTE: The front page of this pattern has a bad crease right across the centre. I have not tried to 'smudge' this out as I would most certainly have spoiled the knitting! Please forgive me!!
