Keep in mind that the jewelry is getting dirty and has a greater risk of getting damaged with frequent use, so we should think about removing it as soon as possible.
- Avoid showering or washing your hands with your earrings, rings or with any kind of jewel in order to preserve them, avoiding the contact with water.
- Avoid doing dishes, cleaning, gardening or going to the pool or to the sea, (consider removing rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings). Do not forget that chemicals and cosmetics are very abrasive, as well as salt water and chlorinated pool water, can be quite aggressive for your jewelry.
- Avoid wearing jewelry when moving heavy objects or playing sports (shocks with hard objects, as they can cause scratches, cracks and other damage).
- Take off your jewelry to sleep. Indeed, you can sometimes have violent movements in the sleep without realizing it (bumping, tapping a wall) and it would be a shame to damage your jewel in this way.
- Remove your jewelry before applying cosmetic products such as perfumes, hair sprays, soaps or creams, as they can damage the jewelry and reduce the lifetime of the metallic coating as well as lead to discoloration.
