This summer I decided to train up my spinning skills by doing some different color study activities. And since I'm spinning them to learn, instead of spinning them for specific projects, I will be putting them up in the shop.
I bought the Purple roving for this yarn from Dyeabolical Yarns , here on Etsy, - https://www.etsy.com/shop/DyeabolicalYarns - I wanted to try a new technique called Gradient spinning. The orange yarn is spun from one wool, the purple is spun from another, and the one in the middle is made from plying one of each together. It allows you to make subtle gradient stripes in whatever you make from it. Use all three in one project, and watch the colors shift back and forth from sunset to dusk and back again. You could even find a dusky midnight blue and go from dusk to dawn.
