This hand shaped lampwork bead features an artist impression of the New Zealand native Pohutukawa tree.
The Pōhutukawa is a New Zealand native coastal evergreen tree that is adorned with beautiful red flowers in the summer. It is also known as New Zealand's Christmas Tree. Renowned for its ability to survive perched on rocky, precarious cliffs, it has found an important place in New Zealand culture for its strength and beauty and is regarded as a chiefly tree (rākau rangatira) by Māori.
Dimensions: 39 mm high x 28 mm wide x 10.5 mm thick with a 3 mm hole. The hole runs from the top to bottom.
This lampwork glass bead was handcrafted by me in my home studio. It has been kiln annealed, and cleaned of all bead release.
