'Sea Foam' is the name of this exciting new artyarn. It's soft, textured, and sparkling with 4 or 5 sea glass beads (I lost count), and also other shell beads, spun into the yarn.
Sea glass is glass that has been tumbled for years, sometimes as long as 50 or 60 years, in the ocean. The best pieces are rounded on all sides, and completely opaque from the tumbling action of the waves against rocks and sand. These pieces were all collected along the Northern Ireland coast line and drilled especially for this special yarn. I selected only very small and very smooth pieces for this yarn.
I have hand dyed and blended soft lambswool Romney grown in N. Ireland with merino, silk, angelina, and bamboo, into which are spun a small handful of the glass and beads. Not too many so it is gaudy, but just one or two will pop out here and there in your project. The small amount of angelina catches the light and sparkles, hopefully you can see that in the pics. Added here and there for texture are some Bluefaced Leicester locks.
A 2-ply yarn, both strands are hand spun. Lots of stacks, and texture.
Approx. 55 yards in this 100gram skein.
Only one skein available at present, although I plan to do more but collecting sea glass and having beads made from them is a time consuming process, so I can only spin this yarn when I have enough beads!
Postage is for tracked shipping to USA. If you end up over paying on postage charges, I always refund amounts more than £1 overpayment, upon dispatch.
Wash your finished project very gently by hand in luke warm water. Dry it flat.
