This is a grouping of 6 llama roving bumps from the llama fleeces of Silver Fortune, Rose and Primary Colors. You can use this roving for hand spinning on your spinning wheel or drop spindle. Please note that the lighting in the photos might make the roving color vary with each image.
If you knit or crochet, you'll love this roving for spinning yarn to make a scarf, hat or mittens! There are 6 bumps of roving included in this listing - each bump approximately 2 ounces (oz) in weight.
If you'd like to learn more about llamas, you can listen to either episodes 4 or 19 of my podcast, Heartsong Fit. In those episodes of the show, I take our llama, Heartsong, on a hike on the trail and record the event for you. You can listen for free at my heartsongfit.com website and through your podcast player of choice. The show is available for download at iTunes, Stitcher Radio and Google Play.
Llama yarn is very warm and nice to wear against your skin - hats, mittens, scarves. It doesn't contain lanolin. We would recommend that you hand wash your garment and lay it flat to dry.
I have enjoyed spinning llama yarn as 100% llama, or I have also blended it on the carders with either sheep's wool or angora rabbit fluff prior to spinning.
In addition, you can find skeins of llama yarn available in our shop from these llamas. The processing and spinning was done at Mystic Water Fiber Mill in Wisconsin.
Our yarn, felted batts and roving are all stored in a smoke-free home that is cat and dog friendly.
Thanks for looking! Your purchase of products from our Etsy shop helps us cover the cost of sending the fleeces off for processing at the mill. Our llamas are hard at work growing their next round of lovely fleeces for your future fiber arts and projects!
