Iridescent Cobalt Blue Carnival Glass

Set of 4 Cabinet Knobs

Replicas of a popular Vintage Depression Era design, they are made of Carnival glass and they look like expensive antique "Iridill" glass made by Tiffiny in the early 1900'S.

Made from the finest silica glass and individually hand made by professional glass workers.

Each knob is slightly different. These iridescent knobs are each uniquely iridized & each knob will reflect and shine differently.

They are stunningly beautiful!

Diameter: 1 1/4" (31.75 mm)

Projection: 1 1/4" (31.75 mm)

Color: Iridescent Cobalt Blue

(This is the same color as my cobalt blue glass knob.

But it has an iridized finish. Can be seen in my eBay store)

Comes with 1 each chrome plated 2 1/2" long machine screw,

Note:1 3/8" of this screw extends beyond back of knob for fastening.

Carnival glass is molded or pressed glass that always has a

shiny, metallic, 'iridescent' surface shimmer.

Carnival glass gets its iridescent sheen from the application of metallic salts while the glass is still hot from the pressing. A final firing of the glass brings out the iridescent properties of the salts, giving carnival glass the distinct shine it is known for.

Carnival glass has been known by many other names in the past: aurora glass, dope glass, rainbow glass, taffeta glass, and 'poor man's Tiffany'.

Carnival glass has a rich history in the USA. It started being made here in the early 1900's by the Fenton Glass Co.Very popular in the 1920"s. As popularity grew it eventually was produced around the world. It is still loved and is a very popular collectible today.

Very pretty but too small for the holes on my chest so I had to return them!
