No idea how i ended up with my Granny's sewing machine..... I'd love to keep it but I can't justify the space, and it hasn't been opened in years.
Machine is a 1911 singer "redline" series. A motor was added sometime in the 50's. I tested the machine and it works but the 60 year old belt shredded into dust. They can be replaced via amazon or ebay for under 10 bucks.
I verified the serial number and checked around for comparable setups and the prices are all over the place. I'm open to negotiation, especially if it's going to someone who will use the thing, and not flip it online or in an antique store...
Foot pedal works great, motor adjusts direction and speed. Cabinet veneer is starting to come lose at the bottom, it's very very old, it's sturdy and functions fine. All drawers move freely.
This thing is heavy. Local pickup is obviously ideal, but I can meet within 50 miles if needed(from Austin Texas). If i'm going to ship it it will likely need to be crated and probably cost as much as the purchase price. I'm not opposed but buyer will pay actual shipping and packing price.
