The wrench is in good working condition. It could use some grease or oil on the working parts. It is not rusty. There is a little bit of a white like a smudge on the handle. It has been cleaned with water. It has not been scrubbed as to preserve the antique patina. There are no breaks, cracks, or missing and loose pieces as far as I can tell. The "B&C" or "B&G" stamp is on one side enclosed in a circle. The other side has the stamp of "Bemus and Call H&T Co Springfield" on it. This wrench, in particular, is unique as it has a shaped metal handle which seems to be driven on to the shaft of the wrench. Also, while many if not all wrenches of this type may have been made with both stamps on the sides of the wrench, they all may not show the stamps as they have been worn off with time. Both stamps actually show on this wrench. One stamp on each side of the head. While the wrench could be used for turning things, it would make a great collector's piece. Also, the decorative possibilities for this wrench are many. It is the perfect size to display on the wall of a man cave. The tool collector will appreciate this piece because of its age and condition.
The wrench weighs 49.6 oz.
The wrench is 12.25" long and the head is 2 7/8" wide.
No touch-up has been done with this tool.
It has not been sanded or painted.
It is not all greasy to the touch. However, if it is rubbed especially on the adjustment section then the hand will get a little dirty.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. The actual laying down or standing up of an item may appear to change that size a little bit. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. However please note that after shipping we recommend all items be cleaned thoroughly before use. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***We do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished look.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that we do not enhance all of our pictures. Sometimes the first picture is enhanced for lighting purposes, etc. Therefore, the other pictures should be in very close agreement with the color.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with a regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront. If you see a questionable mark that is not in the description of an item you are interested in please contact me.
***Please note that since we offer free shipping in the United States, the actual first Shipping costs incurred due to the transaction from the seller to the buyer will be deducted from any returned and/or refundable purchases with the exception of missing items, damages from shipping, listing, and/or condition errors, along with full compliance of Etsy return and refund standards. We are dedicated to our customers and always strive for your satisfaction.
