The holiday season is coming and this santa cocoon pattern is sure to get you in the spirits! This knit pattern is beginner friendly. Both the hat and swaddle are working in the round and the finished product makes a lovely baby shower or holiday gift. If you've got a friend expecting this winter, look no further - this cocoon and hat combo are perfect for baby's first holiday photos, as well as for carting around the new bundle of joy to all the family events! Keep baby snuggly and warm (and super adorable) between house and car.

This pattern has been tested.

This knit pattern can be worked up in an evening while watching TV! Once the pattern is established, it's simple to follow finish up.

PLEASE NOTE: This listing is strictly for a pattern, not a finished product.

Samples are made with Loops & Thread's Zoomba (super bulky) and various worsted weight yarns held together. Other suitable yarns include: Knit Picks Mighty Stitch (Super Bulky), Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, and Bernat Softee Chunky.

Sizes include:
Swaddle (0-6 month)
Hat (0-3 mo, 3-6 mo)

Supplies Needed:

Yarn (for both hat & swaddle): 115 yards MC (red), 25 yards CC (black), 55 yards CC2 (white) of super bulky (#6) yarn. If needed, 4 strands of worsted weight can be held together instead. Small amount of worsted weight yarn in gold for buckle. (Felt can be used as well, if preferred.)

Needle(s): US 15 (10 mm) DPN or circulars for working magic loop.

Notions: One marker, yarn needle to weave in ends, felt (optional), hot glue gun (optional), crochet hook (J 6 mm) (optional), pom pom maker.


Difficulty Level:
Advanced Beginner: working in the round, changing colours, increasing/decreasing.

This pattern is written in US terms, abbreviated style (using abbreviated terms such as k12, yo, etc.).
