MAKE DO AND MEND!
This sock darning egg is composed of a dark wood with four lighter colored wood inlaid pieces. The lighter wood pieces are also in the shape of an egg! Such a whimsical design!
Unmarked. Perhaps this was made by someone the owner knew. There are slightly larger than pinhole-sized holes on either end, where the wood may have been held in place on a wood turning machine.
The egg is in lovely condition. Some small dings here and there, but you have to look closely.
The darner measures 6-1/2 inches long by 2 inches wide, approximately.
Perfect gift for the lady who loves vintage tools and hand repairing her family’s treasured hand knit socks and accessories.
