Don't get caught up in the name of this wall quilt. While it was originally designed using Christmas fabrics, you could use any fabrics you'd like from reproduction prints to batiks. This very versatile pattern can be made as shown, or you can extract the block from the center section and make a whole quilt using this one block (which I think would look great on point actually). Since I'm a sucker for houses, I could see myself making just a row, that section measures 6-1/2"x36-1/2" without any border(s), for a table runner or other small wall quilt. Made as shown, the wall quilt measures 62" square. It would not only look great hanging on a wall, but it would work equally well as a table topper. As always, patterns designed by Lynette Jensen are great for beginning quilters and almost always very, very versatile. All you have to do is look outside the box to create something totally you using this pattern as a guide. If you need any other idea, just ask me.
