Item details

-Yarn is made from fleece of my dairy sheep lovingly and naturally raised on my hobby farm. The origin of this yarn is my East Friesian (German) sheep. In addition to fiber, the sheep provide fresh wholesome milk year round.
-Yarn was prepared by me and then sent to a local mill for processing into the final product (sock weight yarn with 15% nylon). The fiber is a natural undyed yarn milled by combining fleece from the black/very dark brown sheep (pictured with her lambs) and the cream colored yearling ewe (also pictured). At least 57 skeins are available.
-Yarn is available as 200 yard/1.5 oz. skeins. 2-3 skeins are needed for a pair of socks depending on size and accenting colors. My shop sells accenting colors as sport weight yarn which can be used by adjusting needle size to change gauge.
-The exceptional softness of this yarn also makes it ideal for baby garments or blankets.
-Excellent for open knit garments such as shawls or lightweight sweaters.
-Knit on US 1-3/2.25-3.25 mm needles; 7-8 stitches per inch.
-Shipping cost is decreased for multiples. A small priority flat rate padded envelope easily holds 6 skeins.
