Item details

Film tested Polaroid 250 in exceptional condition. No scratches or corrosion, the strap still has the factory foil wrapper. It appears to have had very little use. I've owned dozens of 250s, starting with my first two Polaroid cameras in 2012. This is one of the best.

IN 1967 the 250 replaced the 100 at the top of Polaroid's line-up. The only significant change was replacing the Polaroid 2-window viewfinder with a combined rangefinder/viewfinder built in Germany by Zeiss-Ikon. Polaroid's design was equally accurate but the Zeiss finder is easier and quicker to use, since you do not have to frame and focus separately. .

Zeiss viewfinder
114mm 3-element glass lens
10 sec to 1/1200 sec electronically controlled shutter with Scene Selector
Aluminum body with tripod socket
3-AAA battery pack (you can convert to the original type battery in two minutes, if you choose)
Cold Clip

"Big Window" refers to the Zeiss viewfinder. Early production 250s have a large window that is easier to use if, like me, you wear glasses. Later 250s had the same smaller viewfinder window as other models.

Sample photo shot May 23 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, statue of Lt Gen "Chesty" Puller, a Marine icon.

It doesn't have the usual vignetting because I used the "Bright Sun Only" setting, f/17.5. The smaller aperture almost totally eliminates any darkening in the corners. If you are considering the purchase of any Automatic Land Camera, get one with the Scene Selector lens/shutter. In addition to the "Bright Sun Only" setting used here, the Scene Selector gives you an f/8.8 setting for shooting indoors with ISO 3000 film. No flash needed!

If you want to build a complete kit I have most of the Polaroid accessories for this camera, electronic flash, Portrait Kit, Close-Up attachment, UV and Cloud filters, Self-times, cable release, and various Polaroid cases.
