FAQs

I do my best to make sure I describe everything as accurately as possible. I know the word "untested" has come to mean "completely broken" on todays internet, so I don't generally sell something untested. I will describe what I have done, what I know about the stuff I'm selling and what I don't know. If I make a mistake and don't describe something correctly, of course, I will take it back. But because of shipping costs etc, I can't take it back just because someone changed their mind.

Lots of places. Garage sales, antique malls, pawnshops -- and once people find out you are into old cameras they call you when they're cleaning out their garage and find one.

Depends on the camera. If it's a camera I personally want to shoot, I'll run a roll or two of film through it. I keep a lot of expired film around for this purpose. But most of the time I just check the aperture blades open and close, fire the shutter at all speeds, look for obvious light leaks (especially on bellows cameras).

Sometimes. Minor stuff like covering that is coming off, cleaning and lubrication of more simple things. I'm not a camera tech, but if you're into old cameras and you pay someone to do everything you better have a lot of money -- and I don't.
