A charming 56 page Australian Home Journal knitting and crochet booklet from the 1940's. Australian Home Journal Baby Book No. 5 is a vintage treasure trove of beautiful baby layettes, clothing sets and shawls.
The lovely full colour cover illustration is by the well-known children's book illustrator Pixie O'Harris who was famous for her fairyland drawings.
It also includes some quaint advertisements for baby products - these are a reflection of the times, and are rather amusing!

The booklet is in good condition - the internal pages are slightly yellowed, there is minor creasing and scuffing as is expected with such an old item. It has a stapled binding which is firm and has no splits. There is a small tear on the bottom right front cover corner and 2 very small tears on the back cover.
