Item details

If you want a small challenge to start Fair Isle knitting why not try this simple pattern for a"gay bag and belt"?

A chart is given to follow the pattern ( much enlarged from the tiny original) and gives instructions for the simple shapes.

The original was knitted in red, navy and green with a small amount of yellow 3 ply wool- traditional colours for Fair Isle work.
You will need a pair of old sized UK needles No 12. (2.75mm)

The bag measures 11 and half inches by 8 inches; the belt 2 inches wide by your own length.

The original pattern comes from the 1940s - I have reworked the pattern for easy to read instructions. Available in pdf by instant download

Note: This is a re-written pattern from a vintage pattern now out of copyright. I have made a new and improved version of the pattern , easy to read and follow instructions ... and often there may be added extra information to help you with your project!
