This book is a collection of designs aimed at giving beginners to wire work a starting point and a way forward and for those who are not so new to wire the hints, tips and design pointers will certainly be useful.
The development of this book began a few years ago when Lonely started to offer 3 day beginners classes and this book is the print form of those 3 day workshops. The closest thing you will get to being able to spend 3 days with Lonely with out all the travel involved! That said there is a lot more work in this book to keep you going than 3 days!
With his usual attention to the details and high quality photos Lonely Soldier guides you through his way of constructing a wire wrapped pendant and then offers further instructions on how to develop element of the design e.g different bails, finishes and grips. An essential resource for any wire wrapper.
As this is a beginners book the materials and tools are fairly straight forward: Flat nosed, chain nosed, round nosed and snips Bail pliers if you have them or you could use a pen sized mandrel or an actual pen! and the wire sizes 0.8mm 20ga 0.4mm 26 ga 0.3mm 28ga are the basic sizes of wire you will need.
You will also need cabochons, the book will eventually teach you to wrap any size an shape. We also have in the etsy store what we call practice cabochons, consistent sizes and cuts, 20mm x 30mm x 5mm deep. Do have a look if you want something to get you started.
There will also be a hard copy available in the next week and you can preorder with reduced/free delivery from a separate listing.

I must say, what an absolutely, marvelous tutorial! There is so much attention to detail. The pictures are clear and close up. The explanations are thorough. I couldn't be happier. Well worth the purchase price. I've been wire wrapping for a few years and really wanted to go back to the basics and this is just what I needed. Jim Ferris, well done. Someday I'll make it to Glastonbury to attend one of your workshops!
