This started out as a personal quest to replace a favourite old dog-walking bag and turned into a pattern for hand-knitting a cute little drawstring bag with handy outside pockets. The bag is suitable for many things - including dog-walking!
The bag measures 35cm high by 26cm wide if using Twilleys Freedom Echo DK, however you can substitute many other DK cotton yarns or other weight yarns always remembering the finished bag will turn out a different size.
There are two outside pockets, knitted in one piece and divided in two by duplicate stitching (photo instructions included in pattern).
The bag is knitted in the round with provisional cast on at the bottom and drawstring tunnels at the top which can either be seamed closed or finished with a 3 needle bind-off.
There are instructions included on making an I-cord.
Yarn: You will need 2 skeins of the main colour and 1 skein of the contrast colour or 3 skeins altogether if only using 1 colour.
Notions: 5mm (US ) circular needle (16” length) and same size straights (or just the circular needle and a stitch holder) plus an extra needle the same size for 3 needle bind-off. 5mm (US 8) dpns or circular needle for I-cord. Tapestry needle for pulling I-cord through drawstring tunnel and weaving in ends. Stitch markers (3).
Skills required: Knitting and purling in the round. Provisional cast on. 3 needle bind-off Kitchener stitch Picking up stitches Increasing and decreasing Duplicate stitch (photo tutorial included) I-cord
Please note: This listing is for a PDF digital knitting pattern - not the finished item.
