A chunky headband is a must-have for winter, to keep you feeling warm and looking stylish. A simple cable pattern is a classic decoration for a cosy feel.
The headband is designed for confident beginners, using a combination of crossed-over post stitches. It will help if you can already work post stitches, although they’re very simple to learn.
This pattern includes a page that explains how to work front post and back post stitches.
To work the cable pattern, you just cross over the post stitches.
Finished headband measures approx 8cm wide and 55cm circumference.
Pattern for headband is given in UK crochet terms first and then US crochet terms.
You will need a warm, fairly stretchy aran yarn. We used Drops Air Mix (70% alpaca, 23% polyamide, 7% wool, 50g/130m), 1 ball of 04 Medium Grey.
You will also need a 5mm (UK 6, US H/8) hook.
Pattern includes a full list of abbreviations.
