These are wonderful, vintage beads from the Kashmiri people of Northern India. The Kashmiri people are mostly of Indo-Aryan descent and are historically known to be "beautiful" people. The women love jewelry and are generally adorned with headgear, large earrings and necklaces and multiple arms bands and bracelets.
I believe these are from the middle of the 20th Century. Condition: excellent vintage condition. There is a definite patina present which I left in place for those who prefer an aged appearance.
White metal of unknown alloy, most likely a combination of brass, nickel, maybe some melted down coins and some silver.
These are interesting beads in that they appear to have spacers in between them when strung together. Please note the pictures. There is a flat edge on one side of the bead.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to add a bit of history and ethnic charm to one of your own original designs.

Many of the things you will find in my shop are vintage, ethnic items. Please keep in mind that these are often made by primitive people under primitive circumstances and are rarely what we would consider to be perfect. There may be mismatched jewels, a definite patina and often there are irregularities in the metal. This is common and should be expected with this type of jewelry. I leave the patina in place for those who prefer an aged appearance. Most items can be polished with a mild jewelry cleaner if that is your preference.
