Item details

You are purchasing one 3-5'' tall (pot height is not included) Miracle Fruit (Synsepalum dulcificum) Seedling Tree Starter Plant in 2.5'' square pot.

Synsepalum dulcificum is a plant known for its berry that, when eaten, causes sour foods (such as lemons and limes) subsequently consumed to taste sweet. This effect is due to miraculin. Common names for this species and its berry include miracle fruit, miracle berry, miraculous berry, sweet berry, and in West Africa, where the species originates, agbayun, taami, asaa, and ledidi.
The berry itself has a low sugar content and a mildly sweet tang. The effects of the miraculin have been shown to mask the overwhelming metallic taste food can get after chemotherapy that causes extreme nausea and can lead to patients developing an aversion to eating and unwanted weight loss.
Grows indoors or out. This plant requires only partial sunlight and occasional watering. Prefers acidic soil and loves containers. It grows almost 1 foot each year, reaching a height of 3 ft. at maturity. The bright red berries catch attention against the deep green foliage. You get to enjoy fruit for most of the year.

Trees grown from seeds are not identical to the parent tree.
Grown organically in Florida.
Pictures are from my garden of the actual plants that I grew.
Shipped via USPS First Class or Priority mail.
Shipping for each additional item is $2.50.
