This crochet giraffe pattern is one of my favorites! It is such a versatile pattern... I have made them for babies, for toddlers and even older kids and adults! It is fun to play around with color too... I don't always stick with the traditional colors! Or even weights...Check out the difference here!
The mustard one is worked with a 3.75 (F) hook and size 4 worsted weight yarn. He measures about 10 inches sitting down. The multi-colored purple giraffe is about 15 inches tall and obviously bigger. She was worked up using a 4.5 hook and size 5 bulky yarn. (about 220 yard- which was 2 skeins of I Love this Yarn Chunky plus the accent feet, nose and horn.)
You will need:
Approx 100 g size 4 yarn (I Love this Yarn) OR 250 yards Size 5
Crochet Hook in Size 3.75 (for 10 inch) or 4.5 (for 15 inch)
Polyfil or preferred stuffing
10 mm safety eyes (or 12 mm for larger giraffe)
You will need to know how to use a magic circle, single crochet and how to increase and invisible decrease. I include instructions for the invisible decrease. You will also need to know how to use the half-double, double and triple crochet.
