This 3 ply worsted yarn is the silky lustrous combination of the prime fleece from my dark grey female Andraya and my rose grey male Comanche. This is the second time I've combined their fleeces to create this lovely heathered grey yarn which would make a soft and deliciously warm sweater or cap. Each skein weights about 7 7/8 ounces and is 250 yards long.
This yarn may contain a minute amount of vegetable matter (vm) and was hand skirted at our farm. The process of hand skirting means I personally laid hands on my fleece and diligently tried to remove as much foreign matter as possible.
The yarn was spun by Stonehedge Fiber Mill, a pure Michigan business, located in East Jordan. The fiber was a product of the nuturing that takes place at our farm, Zephyr Hill Farm, located in the heart of Michigan, the mitten state.
Suri yarn is as soft as cashmere, warmer than wool and has the luster of silk. It has an elegant drape, blends well with other fibers, is versatile and provides warmth and substance. It contains no lanolin and comes in several natural colors and dyes beautifully.
