This is the T-Shirt pattern from my 1st book "Beginner's Guide to Dressmaking".
I think this is the perfect t-shirt – it’s not too tight and clingy, it’s not baggy and shapeless, it’s got a really flattering slightly boat shaped neck and isn’t so short it’s going to ride up and show off your midriff!
Even better, it’s a quick easy make and really easy to customise by adding extra seams or ruffles or simply by just mixing up two different fabrics. It won’t take long to whip up one to go with all your favourite outfits. You can make this t-shirt in its most basic version from one fabric, but once you’ve mastered the basic style you can make it your own by adding seams and ruffles and mixing it up with different fabrics.
This project is ideal for beginner dressmakers and anyone new to sewing with knitted fabrics.
This pattern is only suitable for stretch knit fabrics. You can mix and match your fabrics by adding custom seams (explained in the pattern) and the pattern works well with both lighter weight drapey knits such as single jersey and gives a more structured, boxy look with a heavier knits such as ponte roma and sweatshirt. (Help with choosing fabrics can be found on my blog www.wendyward.co.uk)
This design is easy and is great for beginners that have just started to sew!
The multi-size pattern covers 3 sizes which cover the following body measurements: BUST 80-84cm (31.5"-33"), 88-92cm (34.5"-36"), 96-101cm (38"-40"). The sizing and fit is skimming - it's not meant to be a skin tight garment.
