Item details

For Color is a rectangular wrap with an all-over floral pattern. It can be knit in full shawl size or as a smaller wrap/scarf, which is ideal for those who prefer an over-shoulder drape, wide scarf, or are petite.

♥ Named for a sweet lady who needed a little more color in her life, For Color combines simple yarn overs and decreases with a unique edge pattern, For Color offers all kinds of variety while still being accessible for beginning lace knitters.

♥ This wrap looks best in tonal, heathered, or solid yarns with nice drape but not too much weight.

♥ Knit in 600 yards of Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend, For Color is 15″ x 56” long. The smaller scarf/drape version may be knit with 440 yards of fingering-weight yarn, and is 9″ x 42″ blocked.

♥ For Color may be easily adjusted for width or length by adding or subtracting pattern repeats. Just be sure to account for adjustments when buying yarn.

♥ Each of my designs is created around the lives and personalities of someone in my family. These designs and squishy knitted items have deep roots. I hope you feel some of that love when they become a part of your life, too!

♥ Wool, cashmere, and alpaca will shrink and felt if washed, even by hand, in hot water. Please use cold water at all times. ♥ Hand washing is best for animal fibers to prevent pilling and felting. I prefer to soak my handknits in a sink filled with water and a little Euclan or Soak and then squeeze (not wring) gently until they are damp. ♥ However, I do put socks in my washer in a mesh bag on the hand wash setting, knowing they will felt a bit. ♥ Lay damp handknits flat to dry. Hanging can stretch garments, and the dryer will shrink them!
