I call our sets of mixed buttons "jubilation mixes!" because they are so fun. This unique set of handmade wooden buttons was created by my husband Jeff with a variety of woods. (We also discount our mixed button sets just a bit, so you can find some good deals.) After all the sanding and polishing Jeff does, these buttons are so smooth, and you'll love the way they feel. Pictured with blue yarn, these buttons would pair nicely with many different colors.
Top row from left to right: carved heart in Oregon juniper wood, western red cedar, and black walnut wood. Bottom row from left to right: sassafras wood, hemlock wood (from our yard), and honeybee design in yellowheart.
Each button is unique, yet they all go together to make a fun and eclectic group! Sure to add a beautiful, and special touch to your creative projects!
Measurements: All 3/4 inch wide (except for one a little under 3/4 inch.)
*The sassafras wood button in this particular set of buttons has gone through a process to keep the bark on. A note from Jeff: "A lot of folks like the look of buttons with the bark still on them, but this isn't possible with most woods because the bark will come off right away. So I came up with a method of adhering the bark with a special inert (non-toxic) adhesive that permeates the bark then holds it to the main wood. Any adhesive on the surface of the button is then sanded and polished off. This gives a really nice look especially with Hemlock and Sassafras."
Beautiful wood + lots of sanding + natural oil finish + polishing on the buffing wheel + a whole lotta love = some gorgeous buttons for your special projects.
~Care Instructions~ Care for these buttons as you would wool: hand wash garment in cool water and lay flat to dry. If the wood should dry out from washing, a little walnut oil (or other natural oil) on a soft cloth works well to moisturize them. Oiling them will keep your buttons beautiful and protect them from drying out.
