This too cute dress pattern is one of McCall's 'Quickie' patterns, so called because they are quick and easy to make with just a few pieces to cut and a few seams to sew.
Offered by McCall's in 1963, this dress was a very popular style to wear, simple and elegant, playful and fun, it all depends on the fabric you choose. There are 3 different necklines to choose from to suit your look too and you can go fun and flirty with the shorter length, or casual cocktail night just under the knee. It's all up to you.
The sizing is for a Medium 14-16, but sizes have changed since then, so the measurements are:
This is McCall's pattern #6740 is dated 1963 with all pieces accounted for, although a few have been cut for you, and has all instructions pages included. The envelope is in good vintage condition but has some discoloration from age and a few tears on the edges, especially at the bottom. There is also a store stamp on the front as is usual for patterns.
If you're into vintage fashion, this fun mod dress is perfect~
I look for Cool Finds where ever I go and I never know what I’ll run across. I find sewing boxes and so much more and realize that, being vintage, they most likely have been used and will have some wear and tear.
Buttons may have come off of a dress or coat, or they might have never been used at all, like those on the original cards. Books may have been handled and gone through over and over.
I check all patterns to ensure that all pieces are accounted for as well as the directions. If they are used, cut or missing, I have noted that in my description above.
Please look at the details in the photos above as they are a part of my description and are intended to help you determine age and condition. All items are sold as is. If you have any questions, please let me know as I would be more than happy to answer them.
