“Funny thing happened while back. A squirrel hit me on the head with one of them hickory nuts – really big one. Went a little dizzy for a minute, then all these ideas popped into my head about what I could do with all those hickory nuts, besides eat ‘em. Squirrels' plan backfired,” Gramma Kakie
The hickory nut hull pieces make awesome petals and leaves for rustic flowers; branches of greenery on a Christmas tree or woodland tree; or beaks for some kind of bird. This listing is for about a pound of single hickory hull pieces, different sizes, natural colors and thicknesses. They are shipped in a 5X5X5 box as shown in one of the pictures, which also shows the approximate quantity of pieces in the box. I included some pictures of hickory hull creations that I made as examples. I will be posting some of the creations soon. I have some trees in the works where I painted the tips of the trees white to mimic snow. I have also made some flowers with painted petals, using water colors. I like the way the water color paint tints the petals, but allows the natural texture and grain show through – sort of like stain.
If the actual shipping cost is less than the estimated shipping by more than $2, I will refund the difference. Box weight varies depending on the weight of the actual hull petals. Photo props and hickory hull creation examples not included.
