Anemone blanda are native to Greece circa 1854. Our Windflower Mixture yields happy little daisy-like flowers in shades of hyacinth-blue, pale pink and white with contrasting centers on wiry stems above fern-like foliage. Our improved field-grown mixture is predominantly blue, augmented with Charmer (pink) and White Splendour, and consists of both whole and split corms. Commonly known as the Grecian Windflower, it prefers to be planted in organically rich, well-draining soil in full to partial sunlight. Deer- and rodent-resistant, Anemone blanda makes an attractive ground cover in border plantings or as an underplanting beneath contrasting Hyacinths, Tulipsor Narcissus.

Fertilize in the spring with a well-balanced fertilizer when signs of growth appear. Keep the plants well watered during the growth period. It’s best to water at ground level to minimize fungal diseases and flower discoloration. Maintain a layer of mulch to keep the soil cool and maintain moisture, but keep the mulch away from the stems to prevent rot.
