Hello and good day to you! This listing is for a custom Puukko style knife, one of the oldest designs still in use and one of the best "multi-functional" knives in the world. I use 80crv2 steel for the blade as it is durable and holds a nice working edge (I do the heat treating myself to ensure the best performance possible), the handle materials and sheath are up to you but contact me and we'll figure out exactly what you want and the pricing. I highly recommend birch bark as the majority as it has more grip than any other material I've used (even when wet). It's also light in weight, and it is warm in the hand when it's cold outside. Handle fittings now are always finished with a rustic "hammered finish". One of the big reasons I use 80crv2 steel is it was specifically designed for wood working tools, making it an excellent choice, especially for the price. Do keep in mind though that it's not a stainless steel, so wipe it off after cutting anything with fluids in it and oil it regularly. I am open to using other steels on request though as I have a ton of experience dealing with water hardening steels, including Japanese steels! Also, due to the nature of making thing's by hand, and that I may or may not have all your desired material's in stock, it can take several weeks to finish your order, but as soon as it's done and you are happy with it I will ship it within three days. I am very good about keeping you updated through-out and will even give you tracking numbers for your supplies so you know when I get them. Thank you for looking and I would be happy to answer any questions or help if you would like to see more pictures or know more about how I make my Puukko's. Also please contact me if you're wanting a knife for batoning.
If you are outside of the USA please contact me about shipping options.
