FAQs

We do wholesale for our personal care items-bath salts, spa masks, massage candles and magnesium oil. Please contact for price. We need one weeks notice as we will make them fresh. Please advise if custom labelling is desired.

Felted items and silk fabrics can be hand washed in cool water with mild shampoo and rinsed with hair conditioner to keep the softness. Please hang to dry after blotting with a towel. Do not use dryer even on no heat!

Yes we will do custom orders of felted items, silk items, personal care items and jewellery. Contact us with your ideas and we will work diligently to fulfill your order.

We are adamant about recycling. Packaging especially. There is so much packaging waste in the world and we will use everything that we can to only utilize used packaging, boxes and fillers. Our shop mandate is to find as much post consumer or post process material and use it in our handmade goods as well as shipping so we reuse packaging saved from the trash at various commercial venues. So don't be surprised to have your scarf or mortar shipped in an automotive part or electrcial parts box!

All our scarves are felted by hand here in the workshop. The process of laying out materials (wool, silk, other fibres) can be a 3-4 hour task, sometimes more depending on the design. Once it is laid out, the felting process begins; it is all done by hand, all 2000 rolls. The piece is rolled 1000 times one direction, unwrapped, rerolled from the other end and then rolled another 1000 times. This can take up to 8 hours. Once felted, the item is checked for integrity, maybe design features added and then it is washed and fulled. Fulling is a process which tightens the fibres together and actually makes the piece cohesive. In my case, it means throwing it onto a hard surface up to 200 times. So all in all, about 10 hours labour total.

Real American, Egyptian or Tibetan turquoise is hard to find and REALLY expensive. Don't let anyone tell you differently. If is is presented as real or from a specific mine (US) and is affordable to us regular folks, it is probably dyed, reconstituted (pressed together and glued) waste stone. Nothing wrong with it if that is what you are knowingly buying but don't be taken advantage of. A quality turquoise piece of these sizes would cost in the high hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Please educate yourself so that the imitation sellers go away or at least portray their goods honestly! We use untreated African 'turquoise' stones and beads which is a type of jasper and not chemically turquoise at all.
