I have designed this Robin craft with beginners in mind - so there is much of the needle felting basics. By taking this tutorial you will learn... ... about felting materials and how to work with twisted and star felting needles, ... how to make strong and durable basic shapes, ... how to add layers of wool smoothly with the same or another color, ... how to add wool with a border line, ... how to add body parts, ... how to add details symmetrically, ... how to needle felt thin lines, ... how to mix small amounts of wool, …how to add body parts with a wire core.
The Robin needle felting craft kit consists of: * 24 pages instructions brochure that includes lots of step-by-step pictures of the process as well as useful comments that can be used in your further needle felting projects, * New Zealand carded wool fiber in total amount of ~50g / 1.7 oz included (this is the wool I use for my own needle felted items), * 2 #38 twisted felting needles and 1 #38 star felting needle, * foam felting mat, * black wire and wool yarn for making legs.
You will also need scissors and small size pliers that are not included in this kit. Don’t worry if you do not have pliers at home - you can make the robin also without them.
The European Robin needle felting craft is appropriate for adults and kids 10+ years old. As felting needles are very sharp an adult should always supervise kids working with felting needles.
Good luck and be creative!!!
