We use bubble wrap, tissue and padded envelopes, as appropriate for the item being shipped. Sometimes we use recycled packaging or boxes - in an attempt to "go green" and save trees.
Postage prices in the UK are for ordinary 1st class post. Orders over £30, will be sent Recorded Delivery at no extra charge.
International postage prices to most of Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and NZ are for ordinary Royal Mail air mail, which I normally find perfectly satisfactory. Orders over £40 will be sent by International Signed for, at no extra cost.
If you would like smaller orders sent by International Signed For, please choose the shipping upgrade.
International postage prices to Italy and elsewhere in the world are for International Signed for only.
We use Royal Mail services. If the item(s) is on their list of prohibited, or restricted items, or or on any restricted Customs list in your country, and should the parcel be scanned, or opened or confiscated, we cannot be held liable. Most sewing sets travel well but recently we have had two parcels fail to arrive (out of a total of over 3,000 sales), so we can no longer afford refunds for those that get stopped. We hope our customers will understand this provision.
Unfortunately we can no longer combine shipping for several orders. If you purchase more than one item in one order, there is no further shipping charge in the UK, and a minimal additional charge of 50p per item for overseas orders to cover increased weight. But we cannot save your order and combine with future orders as we do not have the storage capacity or admin time to do this.
All orders will be despatched within 2 days, often sooner. Occasionally Iwe are away for a week or so, in which case this will be stated under the shop heading. Orders will be acknowledged but not despatched until we return.
