A marimo ball is a rare growth form of algae, which grows into large green balls with a soft, velvety appearance.they are native to japan where they naturally grow at Lake Akan. They are also found in Iceland ,Estonia and Scotland. They can grow patches on a lake floor at depths from 2 to 2.5 m. The round shape of the marimo is maintained by wave action that turns it.
In Japan the marimo has said to be a national treasure.
They where named by the Japanese botanist "Tatsuhiko Kawakami". Mari means bouncy ball and Mo is a term for plants that grow in water. So, marimo means bouncy plant

Not only are they beautiful and intriguing but you will be owning a piece of Japans national treasure which is also said to bring good luck and love to the lucky recipient.
My past customers have told me that my marimo terrariums have lowered their blood pressure, helped stave off depressing days by helping them smile, made someone else in their family smile. Many customers love how the marimo looks in their homes or offices and how they get complimented on them all the time!
It gives owners in small apartments a chance at owning a pet that requires little maintenance.
My healing crystals in my terrariums also help with a number of concerns a client may be facing and bring incredibly good karma to the recipient.

How long will my marimo live? A marimo can live for a 100 or more years! They thrive best in cold water and indoor or indirect sun. Never let your marimo get too warm!

How often do I change water? You can change water as little as once a month or as much as every two weeks in summer!

Marimo maintenance-These pretty little guys can attract dirt, so take out your marimo every couple of days and squeeze it over a sink to get dirt out.. Rinse very well and return to terrarium

how do i take care of necklaces? Just replace water as condensation happens.. pop off cap and add fresh cold water... make sure baby is getting some light....
