The applique pattern is full sized, no enlargement necessary. There are instructions for both hand and Fusible appliqué included along with border construction and embroidery and embellishment tips.
This quilt was inspired by a wild sunflower that grew up in my fence this summer. We almost cut it down but decided to let it grow. I eventually took photographs of it and used them as a screen saver on my computer. The sunny face of this wild spirit eventually moved me to capture it in fabric. I have embellished my block with glass beads and antique "bee" pins. It was just the ticket for brightening a cold wall in my husband's office.
This sunflower is large enough to embellish the corner of a larger quilt as shown in the last photo.
For those of you with Digital Embroidery Machines, there is a version of this design on CD. Send a Convo for details.
I have John James Applique and Embroidery needles available in a separate listing. These are the needles I recommend to my students. Your hand stitches will improve when you use quality needles!
Beautiful pattern. I am adapting it for wool applique on linen and it's going to be awesome!

It is simple, yet beautiful, especially in batiks!

This is just the perfect item for my daughter's (Sunny) birthday. Her company moved to new offices at the first of the year and her birthday (1/26/--) present will work perfectly as a quilted hanging in her new office. She absolutely loves sunflowers. This will last so much longer than the real flower or a card and be made especially for her. Thank you.
