Sycamore Free standing 6" x 4" Picture Plaque with strut back 2 pack

Hand made from 12mm thick kiln Dried Sycamore these are a very popular craft item for Pyrographers and make a really nice mid priced gift when decorated. Great for doing portraits Humans and especially Pets and they have a built in strut back just like a normal free standing picture frame.

Our Sycamore is all obtained from sustainable resources, this means that the forests are managed Plantations where more trees are planted than are harvested. The Sycamore is selected for quality and then air dried first to preserve the whiteness, then kiln dried for stability. Sycamore is a very light coloured close grained hardwood and there is no better medium for pyrography. It also takes any stain and paint very well too.

Always worth asking if you require 100 or more of one item

Some design are too uneconomical to make but it's worth asking if you want slightly different shapes or sizes of our standard products. We are always happy to quote for these

Every product that we make is sanded by hand but on a machine. We pride ourselves on the excellent finish to our products. Because of the hand made touch non of our sizes are exact, that is why we quote approximately. I normally cut oversize to allow for sanding variations though so you will not be short changed! Everything that we make that is circular is turned again by hand on a wood lathe and sanded on the lathe so that they are perfectly round but can vary a tiny bit in size. I pick out things like coasters that are exactly the same size so that you get a matching set.

Sycamore is natural wood product and as such is can change with humidity and temperature. Our sycamore is first Air dried and then kiln dried for stability. It is not normally affected by small changes in temperature or humidity but if expose to extreems it can warp sometimes, i.e. if a product is placed above a radiator, in the bathroom or outside exposed to the elements. All of our proucts take paint, stain and varnish very well. Sycamore chopping/Bread/Cheese/Herb boards are best left untreted. Sycamore contains a natural resistance to bacteria and it has been shown in laboratory tests to be much better than plastic boards at preventing bacteria growth. (no wonder it has been used for centuries for kitchen utensils and cutting boards)

We don't do gift wrap but we have an enviable reputation for customers receiving undamaged deliveries. In 25 yeasr we have had only one parcel reported damaged and needed replacing, that was over 20 years ago. We use Royal Mail and Fed Ex for our deliveries depending on the size of the order. Most small orders are sent by first class (up to 1 kilo) Second class signed for (1 to 2 kilo) and Fed Ex for larger orders over 2 kilo's. The only time deliveries go missing and it is very rare is an odd one or two are the time leading up to christmas. We just resend the parcel without fuss as quickly as possible
