A pin to secure your ribbon or cord when dressing a distaff, hand turned from white oak.
A thin ribbon or cord is threaded through the eye of the pin, then the cord is tied to the top of the distaff, wrapped up and down the fiber, and the pin is stuck in the fiber to act as a hook to keep the cord in place. This is a useful alternative if one finds tying ribbon unmanageable.
This pin comes already threaded with cord, but ribbon may be substituted.
A pin of this size may be useful on a larger or more fully dressed distaff.
This is the missing link for my little wrist distaff - the fiber finally stays where it's supposed to. Thank you - this is a miniature work of art.
I ship USPS by default in the size box that best suits your order. If your order must ship via Priority due to size or weight, I will not charge extra but will comp the cost. I am happy to accommodate requests for upgrading shipping.

When posting a listing it is sometimes difficult to estimate shipping. If, when checking out, your shipping costs seem off, please let me know and I will calculate shipping for you.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
Custom or personalized orders
Perishable products (like food or flowers)
Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

Additional return information
I am happy to accept the return of any undamaged item within 14 days of sale date.
If your item arrives damaged, please allow me the opportunity to send you a replacement without further cost to you. My goal is to get you the item you wanted as it was intended!
If you receive an item that is not what you ordered, I will of course accept the return and ship your correct order immediately.
For international orders arriving damaged, please inform me of the customs or VAT you have paid so that I can send you a refund of that amount.
Although, if you have changed your mind before I have shipped your order, I can still cancel or make alterations to a transaction before shipping. Please email asap so I can accommodate your request.
I am happy to take custom orders, and if there is any piece which you wanted but missed out on, or would like in a different stone, I will do my best to accommodate your wishes.
I can also create pieces according to your specifications like weight, shape, e.g if you wanted a piece described in "Prehistoric Textiles" by EJW Barber p. 307, or if you perhaps tell me you would like a conical, flat topped 4 cm diameter and 2 cm deep whorl in, say, soapstone, I can work with that. In cases such as these, I will send photos as a piece progresses in case adjustments or changes are needed.
Please understand, though, that each item is individually made, so while I may attempt to replicate a whorl, there will be small differences here or there.
Custom pieces will take anywhere from a day to a week depending on complexity.
Ordering over the weekend: Orders placed over the weekend may experience some delay for two reasons. The first is due to USPS hours of operation, and the second is due to my work schedule at my other job. I apologize for any inconvenience this may incur.
