I've stuffed every green into this yarn that I could dye. Sea green, grass green, teal, jade, turquoise, blue, bright green, sage, green/blue and turquoise dyed BFL locks, & light green cotton thread. I blended this myself on my electric drum carder. There is a lot of silk here, and merino, but added Romney lambs wool grown in Northern Ireland gives more durability and body without any loss of softness. This is in fact, very soft.
Spun intentionally thick thin, with lots of stacks, cocooms, and bobbles, spiral plying, and lock spinning. A 2 ply yarn, both strands are hand spun, then plied together. Loads of texture here. Soft enough to be worn next to skin.
Price is for each individual bobbin, and each one has 30g of 'Shamrock' wound onto it. Pictures of both ends of the bobbins. Bobbins are from North of England cotton mill, now closed down. Probably around 1920's. I have lightly cleaned them, and waxed and polished.
