This paper is remarkably thin, with very deckled edges, yet it's really strong. I make all of my papers from plant fibers 9 not recycled paper)
It's composed of 2 fibers: the white inner bark, fiber from the kozo tree, which I cook, clean and beat by hand and abaca fiber.
Abaca is a very strong versatile pulp from the banana leaf. It's commonly known in the international trade as Manila Hemp and is considered the strongest of natural fibers. It is 3 times stronger than Sisal fiber, and is far more resistant to salt water decomposition than most of the vegetable fibers.
The two fibers were combined and then dyed a soft grey prior to forming the sheets.
Each sheet was pulled separately, pressed and placed on boards to dry in the sun.
Listing is for five 8.5 x 11 inch sheets.
Gorgeous paper as always! And great customer service. Thanks Gayle x
