This remnant piece measures approx. 33" x 34". Use drop down quantity to purchase more than one. This gorgeous cotton interior décor fabric is from 1990 - designed by Betsey LaMonte and very hard to find. It is in excellent condition - lovingly stored. Reminds me of a Matisse painting - it is a beautiful scene of rooms inside a Victorian home -- a parlor, sitting room and bedroom. It features incredible details of the over cluttered Victorian room -- such as the moldings and architecture, period furniture and art, rugs and draperies, wallpaper, and tons of decorative décor. Similar to Matisse's The Red Room (see last photo of that Matisse painting) Zoom in and check out all the design details -- a white bird cage, a black cat sleeping on a rug, women painting, playing piano or day dreaming , children in pajamas playing chess. Amazing!!
This cotton is tightly woven/high thread count with medium weight fibers. The primary color palette is lavender/ purples with French blue, teal, green, purple tone greys and taupes. The surface has a bit of a chintz finish that will wash out when laundered. Colors are matched as close as possible. There are several great pattern placement opportunities here - the last photos show scale examples using a frame with an opening of 10" x 12".
LaMonte's fabric line was produced for upscale "top of the bed" fabric and bedroom décor like pillows, swags, drapery, duvet covers and table coverings. According to some information I found it was "manufactured in the United States from 100% cotton, vat dyed to assure the finest quality hand and color, and resist soil and stains."
