Here is a pretty pin cushion, presented to you with a rosette of pastel coloured pins.
This pin cushion has been upcycled from a piece of vintage embroidered linen. I have added machine-embroidered details, buttons and green polka dot fabric, which complement the colours in the original stitch-work.
Use this as a holder for pins and needles and admire the beautiful embroidery. Function plus beauty is always welcome in any sewing room, and you can never have too many pin cushions ;)
- Handmade in the UK by Isobel at Keep Stitching. - The pin cushion has been upcycled from hand-embroidered vintage linen. - Dimensions: 13.5 cm x 10 cm and approximately 4 cm deep (5 x 4 x 1 1/2 inches). - A Keep Stitching product label is sewn into the side seam of the pin cushion. - Filled with polyester fibrefill. - A rosette of 40 round headed pins is included.
I love to work with vintage linens which were traditionally embroidered in the UK during the early 20th century. During that time many women embroidered their household linens, brightening their homes with colourfully stitched flowers. Sometimes these old pieces are age-marked or frayed and cannot be used anymore, but I feel that the embroidery is too precious to throw away. The stitch-work is so beautiful!
