-Packages Valued below $50 Packages valued below $50 are insured to protect from loss. If tracking shows your package as being delivered and you have not received your order, please contact local authorities to report postal theft.
There is a seven (7) day waiting period for packages shipped domestic and a twenty-one (21) day waiting period for packages shipped international via the United States Post Office. At that time an affidavit of non-delivery must be signed. Once the affidavit has been received all in stock items from the original order will be reshipped. If all items from your original order cannot be replaced, a refund will then be disbursed in the amount of the difference between your orders value and the value of the items which are reshipped minus original shipping and handling.

The value of "Lost" Packages will not be *refunded before twenty-one (21) days for packages shipped domestic and a forty-five (45) days for packages shipped international. Often "Lost" Packages will find their way to their destination.

Reserve Listings Items can be reserved for you upon request. This can prevent items in your cart from being purchased by another shopper if you plan on leaving the items in your cart for a short while. Once you receive notice that your Reserved item has been listed for you, please complete your payment as soon as possible. If no payment is received within 2 business days the item/s will be relisted and available for purchase by other shoppers. Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
Custom or personalized orders
Perishable products (like food or flowers)
Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Additional return information
It is important that you are happy with your purchase. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase please contact Golden Butterfly Beads within 7 days (14 days within the EU) of receipt to arrange a return/refund or exchange.
Wires, Chains and Special Orders are not eligible for any type of refund or exchange.
Refunds will be made, less shipping and handling, after sellers receipt of the returned item/s.
Returns will not be accepted after 30 days.
International Packages that are Refused and Lost will not be refunded. Refund will be made Minus Any Shipping Costs (including return shipping) when refused package is return in original condition.
Care of Vermeil Beads, Findings and Jewelry
Your beads will be carefully prepared for shipping. The most common packaging used is as follows:
Beads and findings are counted and checked for count and item accuracy then placed in zip closure plastic bags. The individual small bags are placed in a larger zip closure bag. Your order is then wrapped with a layer of 1/4" bubble wrap, a stabilizer is placed inside to prevent bending of wires and headpins. This package is placed, along with your packing slip , into a bubble mailer. Orders that contain more fragile items are placed in a jewelry style box rather than large zip closure bag. Large orders may be shipped in a shipping box rather than a bubble mailer.
Prior to shipping, beads and findings are stored with anti-tarnish tabs in air tight bead storage containers and zip baggies. These tabs are changes biannually.
Storage and Handling
For long term storage, it is not recommended to store your beads or finished jewelry in cotton filled paper gift boxes unless you use the anti-tarnish cotton inserts or anti tarnish tabs, as such storage methods will actually speed the tarnishing process.
As a final, perhaps extreme precaution, I would recommend frequent hand washing or even wearing thin cotton gloves when handing the vermeil to minimize skin oil transfer.
All of the points above hold true for most sterling silver with the exception of rhodium plated sterling. So if you use any special techniques to prevent your sterling from tarnishing, they will likely hold true with your vermeil beads and finished jewelry.
Polishing with cloths is not recommended for vermeil as it will damage/scratch the surface of the softer gold layer. Liquid or VERY gentle creams may be used but should be tested first. I haven't needed to use these in years since I've become using the tabs.
You may suggest to your customers regarding maintenance type cleaning for their jewelry, simply washing in a diluted gentle soap such as dish soap followed by thorough drying before storage. This will not remove tarnish but will remove oils and other contaminates that may accelerate the tarnishing process.
Ultrasonic cleaning may damage the gold electroplating of vermeil and should be avoided.
