This paper is remarkably thin, with very deckled edges, yet it's really strong. It's composed of 2 fibers: inner bark, fiber from the kozo tree , which I cook, clean and beat by hand .Then I combine this beaten kozo fiber with abaca fiber.
Abaca is a very strong versatile pulp from the banana leaf. It's commonly known in the international trade as Manila Hemp and is considered the strongest of natural fibers. It is 3 times stronger than Sisal fiber, and is far more resistant to salt water decomposition than most of the vegetable fibers.
Each sheet is pulled by hand. All edges are deckled.
This is a perfect paper for drawing, printmaking, collage and scrapbooking.
