This paper is remarkably thin, with very deckled edges, yet it's really strong. It's composed of 2 fibers: white inner bark, fiber from the kozo tree , which I cook, clean and beat by hand and abaca fiber.
Abaca is a very strong versitle pulp from the banana leaf. It's commonly known in the international trade as Manila Hemp and is considered the strongest of natural fibers. It is 3 times stronger than Sisal fiber, and is far more resistant to salt water decomposition than most of the vegetable fibers.
I dyed the pulp avocado before forming the sheets.
Price is for ten 6 x 8 inch sheets.
Yummy spring color! Always a beautiful paper from Gail. 😊
